Who remembers the impact that “Rust” had in 2018? It feels like yesterday, but it’s already been a few years since this co-production between Grafo Audiovisual and Globo Filmes won hearts and awards everywhere it went.

At the Gramado Festival, “Rust” shone brightly, taking home three Kikito Awards: Best Film, Best Screenplay (written by Aly Muritiba and Jessica Candal), and Best Sound Design (by Alexandre Rogoski). It was an unforgettable night, one for the history books, with applause and plenty of celebration!

But it wasn’t just in Gramado that “Rust” made its mark. The film also crossed borders and landed at the renowned Sundance Film Festival in the United States, one of the most important independent film festivals in the world. The film brought up contemporary issues about exposure on social media, a theme that remains as relevant as ever.

If you haven’t seen it yet, or if you want to relive this story, it’s worth checking out — after all, great films never lose their power over time!
