Director’s statement
Betting on suspense as a genre, “The Parking Lot” is a study on the limits between madness and reason in human beings. It mainly explores how the individual is suppressed to a kind of supporting role in modern society, which prioritizes space for cars. Parking lots for cars proliferate at a dizzying speed in the centers of major cities in Brazil, reflecting the exponential and progressive growth in the number of cars in urban areas. — William Biagioli
